What to Expect
When you initially contact MKF Counseling for an appointment, you will speak with Amy, our assistant director. Here we will discuss the reason you are seeking therapy at this time, your insurance information, and your scheduling needs. From there Amy will contact your insurance company to determine your mental health benefits while determining which therapist would be a good fit based on your needs and personality. Once your benefit information has been obtained and your potential therapist has been briefed, Amy will call you back to inform you what your cost share will be and which therapist will reach out to you. Your therapist will then contact you to set up your first appointment.
During your initial session you and your therapist will discuss what has brought you to therapy, along with some background information. You will discuss personal goals which will be worked on together over time.
